I'm a 15 year old girl on my high school's golf team. I've been golfing for a few years but I'm not that good and we can't afford professional help at the moment. My biggest problem is hitting irons. I hit inconsistently - the ball might go in the air, stay on the ground, go left or right, go short, go far. Not consistent at all. How can I make better contact and how can I train myself to hit down on it?|||Get DVD from library and watch it. Most important your grip stance and alignment,
Make sure your knees flexed body slightly leaning forward make sure your body does not sway thru out the swing. I firm my back knee and my body balanced in the middle of my stance.
Drag your club as far back as you can turn your shoulder bring should under your chin. Pause at the top so your body is settled, drop your elbowswing thru at a tangent bringing your other shoulder under your chin, no yanking.
Every thing slow and no power surge. You form a triangle your arms and body maintain the tingle thru out your swing another words turn with your body not body first, not arms first but together.
Many places have group lessons, you pay $20 you hit balls and the pro comes around give you 5 min. And go to the next student, you only need to fix one thing at a time one thought|||Hey, Well it would be very difficult to see what you are doing wrong without seeing you in person. However to hit down on the ball helps promote a better strike from the ball, it also puts more spin on the ball.
Anyway, trying putting the ball further back in your stance with your hands forward, this will help promote you to hit down on the ball which may help your striking.
Good luck %26amp; remember your only 15, few years and you;ll be awesome, just work hard on what feels right!!!|||One way to train yourself is to place a golf ball 12 inches behind the ball you intend to hit, this will help to develop a descending blow. A PW is a good club to use, practice this drill on the range a few days and you will see a huge difference. As you get better at this move the ball closer an inch or two. GOOD LUCK and this does work.|||Maybe a good irons set is necessary for you ,Choose the loft and the shaft flex that suit you most. Of couse practice makes perfect.|||you need to find some one at a local range that can help for cheap..or join ur highschool team..kids get alot of perks..find a club or course that envites young ppl who want to learn..Look up First Tee programs
