What is the most important thing to remember when playing golf?

When playing golf, what is the #1 thing you would recommend to help an inexperienced player improve?|||To remind yourself playing one shot at a time, not to think of the past shot as well as the next shot, at the moment.|||Remember that you are out there to have fun and relax.

Trying to recover from trouble gets you into more trouble.

Remember that no matter how good you get and no matter how many years you play the game, you will still hit bad shots once in a while. Do not let them get to you.

Golf is the only game in the world that the better you get at it the more you realize how much you suck.|||Keep moving, don't slow down the course. If your new, go to the range until you can hit the ball consistently and then start on an easy course. And when you get to a full size challenging course you will have a lot more fun, because you learned to walk before trying to run. So many novices go out with their buddies and think a round of golf is something everyone could do. It takes practice and skill. Without that it is a miserable experience because your always losing balls and hitting ball after ball 2ft at a time, making the game slow for you and everyone else on the course.|||keep your head down!

When you look up, you lift your shoulders which pulls in the club ever so slightly and send your ball slicing off into the wild.

The only other thing I can think of is to remember that it's a game. It's not a sport, it's not a competition. It's just you and the course. Forget about everyone else and just play your best. If you let some bad shots get into your head - you're going to make more bad shots.|||Shroom 'Other golfers'!! the guys you are playing with wont care if you are a c*** golfer but will care if you stand in the wrong place, hit out of turn or not be ready when its your turn to play or talk when they are getting ready to hit, so just relax and enjoy the day. Hope the weather is kind, good luck.. |||Etiquette.

Dont step in someones line

Dont talk during someones swing

Let faster players play through

Repair your ball marks

Repair your divots

Dont stand directly behind someone while they are swinging or addressing the ball

Count all your strokes

Be respectful of your playing partners and all other groups on the course

Other than that, keep your head down and have fun out there!

|||lol Those first few answers were hilarious.

Alright my answer is....Learn from your mistakes if you make some bad shots go to the driving range, Chipping greens and putting greens to improve on your mistake. Other wise just practise over and over on your weakness and strengths |||Stay Calm. I have played so many games that I have ruined because I couldn't control my anger. If you have a bad shot just take a deep breath and think about your next shot. And always have a positive attitude.

Hope this helped.|||Great question!

Simple answer. Get lessons from an experienced PGA Professional, practice with whatever time you can allow to it, and HAVE FUN!

No one really cares how you play but they do acknowledge one who plays by the rules, will pick up when falling behind and enjoys the game for what it is .|||The proverbial . . . . . .KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE BALL !!!!!!!!!!!|||Swing the club as hard as you can and yell fore.|||Pick the guy washing windows for a quarter in the parking lot as your caddy. It's cheaper.|||remember putting is 50% of the game....if you can become a great putter its half the battle so practice hard.|||Lower scores are better than higher scores!!|||You must remember to have enough money for beer|||stay concentrated|||Hit your ball so that it makes the next hit easier.|||relax and enjoy yourself its only a game.|||It's a game!

And practice practice practice.... but not on the driving range ball picker upper though.|||Get lessons and practice!!!|||keep your eye on the ball when swinging and dont get angry, its just a game(:|||To dress up in silly clothes|||This is easy. I can't believe no one told you to:

HAVE FUN!|||Wind?|||make sure there is no one behind you when you t off
