What golf clubs should I get my boyfriend for our anniversary?

I want to get my boyfriend golf clubs for our anniversary but I have no idea what to get him, his dad passed away and he uses his old Callway clubs but he is always talking about how he wants new ones. I always pay attention when he looks at golf clubs and he said he really likes PING or Callaway and he wants hybrids? I would like to get him a set with a bag and everything if possible 600 or less. Any help!? Links would be great too|||i would rather you let him try the clubs first. you should tell him what you want to do and let figure out if he wants to put money in and get what he wants.|||Thanks everyone(= ha I'm going to bring one of his guy friends with me so help me pick them out my plan for giving them to him is to good to just get a certificate!

|||Good luck with that. You may have to up that price if you want to include a bag and hybrids. Your best bet is to have him custom fitted for clubs at Dick's Sporting Goods or your local pro shop. Ping and Callaway are going to be about 600 bucks and up unless you go for something pre-owned which you can find quality pre-owned equipment at many online retailers. Getting the custom fitting done prior makes it easier to buy equipment especially if it's found standard loft and lie angle works for him. Most irons off the rack come standard loft and lie angle unless it states otherwise. Here's a link: http://www.golfetail.com/c-12-irons.aspx鈥?/a>

Other options are:

ebay.com

rockbottomgolf.com

gppgolf.com

3ballsgolf.com|||First, let me say you may be the greatest girlfriend! You can do it for around $600 but you will be getting last years set, or a set that is about to be replaced. Don't get me wrong, that is actually how most of us can aford golf sets. New stuff that is jsut not the latest model. I bought my Callaway Big Bertha 2006 Irons just after the 2008s came out. Same clubs taht three months before were 599 or 699, I got 3 months later for 399. So its doable.

However, like Ty said, I would either do one of two things, go with him to shop for them, let him pick them out, let him get measured and fitted etc. and just let you pay, OR get him a gift card and let me do it himself. I suggest the first, that way you have the experience of going with him and the enjoyment of buying the gift for him!

By the way, did I mention you may be the greatest girlfriend?|||First off, you are an awesome girlfriend.

Second, I would suggest buying a certificate to a local pro shop or a place like dick's. It would be difficult to pick a set that he doesn't get to swing first. Kind of like buying a car without test driving it. Ultimately you get to set a price that works for you and he will get the clubs he wants and will enjoy, knowing that you gave him the certificate to get them. I would go with him as well, I enjoy when my fiance takes an interest in my golfing hobby. Good luck!|||You will not be able to purchase a whole set of Callaways or Ping for less than $600. However, don't let the brand fool you. Unless your boyfriend is an extremely good golfer he will not notice the difference if you buy a brand that costs less. At that point, its the thought that counts NOT the cost.|||I'd stick with what Ty said, it's awesome that you're thinking about him and want to do that for him - but golfers are very particular with the gear they play. He'd likely be much happier with a gift certificate or appointment with a golf pro to get fitted for something himself.|||A gift certificate is the best option. Most manufactures have several models and how a club looks and feels is important to many golfers.|||Mizuno irons or Callaway woods or both.
