How long does an average game of golf last?

My DH is playing golf with his boss. Just wondering when to expect him home. I have no clue how long it takes to play golf.|||Goodness. The horror of it all:)

Depending on the skill level of the group, it may take anywhere from 4 - 6 hours to finish playing. I recall my first round seemed like an eternity! Sometimes you get stuck on an overbooked course and it takes longer.

Don't rush it though. He's going out with the boss man. That is always a good sign of good things to come at work.

After you ask him how much fun he had, guilt him into an expensive dinner or pair of shoes. My lady always seems to get her fair share from my golf excursions:)

BTW, what is a DH?|||Don't expect him home for dinner. This is a command performance and the timing of the day will be controlled by the bosses wife. Your husband will just have to go along with what the boss has planned and you can look at this little investment in time to be an investment in your future. Hope he has a great time without the fear of getting a cool reception when he gets home. I hope he knows enough to let the boss win.|||I think DH is Dear Husband, is that right?

Around of 18 holes (Par 72 course) takes about 5 hours. Plus driving to and back. I'd give it 6 hours just to be safe.

Around of 9 holes takes about half time, so 3 hours.

Around of Par-3 takes about 3 hours, plus driving to and back, about 4 hours.

I play with my boss often, usually there's always dinner that follows it. Because loser has to buy dinner. |||Bandett has it right. You are not actually asking how long a round of golf takes, but how long he will be gone. Those are 2 totally different answers. Assume they have four players, on a typical day the 18 holes last 4.5 hours max. But travel time, and warm up at the range, maybe lunch prior, followed by the traditional 19th hole settling of bets over a few Beechwood Aged cocktails after, then maybe shower in the locker room, change, dinner and a trip to a gentlemen's club.... Sounds like it could be an all day activity. |||It depends. I am an avid golfer myself. Are you playing on a country club or a public course? Are you playing during the week or on the weekend? If a public course, it normally takes about 4.5 to 5 hours. If it is private, count on around 4 hours. if it is on the weekend, add about 25 minutes to those times. Hope I helped.|||Yang Z

5 hours for a round of golf?????? are you kidding?

I played a course 2 weeks ago that used to host a tournament on the European Tour. The signage around the course made it abundantly clear that a fourball was expected to take no longer than 3hrs 58 mins. 5 hours for a bloke playing with his boss?????? Okay, allowing 10 minutes for him to extract his tongue from his boss's trousers, but please!!!!!|||when he gets home ask him what took so long? Is it because they stopped off at the 19th hole?:::::::::::::: You know there are only 18 holes :::::::::::::then they stop at the Bar at the club house after the game . its called the 19th hole.::::you tease him a little with that.haha|||About 4 hours and 15 minutes is the average round on a medium day. However, there may be 19th hole drinks and eats.|||18 holes, about 4 hours|||long enough for you to geta boy friend. is dh a dead head?
