What different types of Golf GPS Systems are there avilable and which is the best?

I am looking to buy a golf gps system and am confused with the types available and what they do. I would also like an opinions on which is the best. Thanks|||I use a caddy lite gps.

It costs around 拢140 and comes with 2 courses free, you can pay for each course or pay an annual subcription.

It gives yardages to hazards, front middle and back of the greens.

You can also use it for practising and it gives your average distance for each club.

It's ideal.|||You should Try before you buy. Rent both and see what one you like.

|||I have used a rangefinder with limited success; currently own a Skycaddie and swear by it.

Unless the course you're playing has GPS in their carts, the Skycaddie is the way to go. Unlike other rangefinders, it gives you various distances (layup to key points, not just the centre of the green or the flag).

As someone who plays 80-120 rounds from April-October and plays in tournaments, I get a lot of use out of my Skycaddie.

The negatives are the cost; they're not cheap, and you do have to pay an annual fee. If you play a lot of golf and don't always ride, it's a good investment (they're legal in USGA/R%26amp;A competitions). If you only play a couple dozen rounds, it may not be a good investment.

Unfortunately, caddies are a dying species (I got my start 20 odd years ago as a caddie), and frankly, good caddies are hard to find (which is sad since it's a great point of entry into the game), but the reality is that short of having a caddy, my Skycaddie is the next best thing.|||If you have a cell phone with an internal GPS, then dump the idea of having to buy a dedicated GPS entirely. GolfTraxx can give you MORE targets, spot on distances and it is a downloadable SW to your phone. FREE if you map a course that is not in the database.

Nearly any course you would want to map can be mapped by you, at home using your computer. Take about 45 minutes. No $100 subscriptions, and no additional devices to remember to charge, synch, etc. AND an iPhone version is about to be released.|||i am a caddy, and i see a lot of rich golfers, using "sky caddies". They help alot and tell you very accurate yardages to the back and fornt and middle of the green. search in sky caddies their my favorite..then there is something that looks like a video camera..you look in a see the pin and gives you an exact yardage..those are the two main.

good luck|||hands down the sky caddy is the absoulete best and easy to operate GPS system on the market http://www.skygolfgps.com/SGProducts.asp鈥?/a> here is a list of all the models they make you can find them cheaper though hope i helped|||The golf buddy. 20000 courses already pre loaded. no annual fee. and same price as the sky caddie. you would be a a fool to by the sky caddie|||I've looked at several of these...I chose the Skycaddie.....It gives more precise detail, in my opinion, to various points on the course.
